First to arrive will be the BMW i3, a compact 4-seat electric vehicle intended for urban driving. BMW has promised that the performance of the 2013 BMW Sports Cars Coupe i8 Hybrid will be in keeping with that of the brand’s other sports models. Other vehicles will then be added to the “i” lineup after the launch of the i3 and i8.

The Jaguar XKR-S also required aerodynamic modifications to achieve its 300kph top speed in the unruffled manner expected of a Jaguar and has been designed solely with an eye for purity of line and singularity of purpose. As the XKR-S approaches its top speed, there is a requirement to channel air cleanly over, around and under the car in order to maintain stability and ensure balanced downforce front and rear. An overall reduction in lift of 26 per cent has been achieved.
The performance of the 2012 Jaguar Sport Cars XKR-S is reflected in both its interior and exterior styling, which feature exclusive new paint colours that reflect Jaguar's racing heritage. As with competition Jaguars of the past, the exterior of the 2012 Jaguar Sport Cars XKR-S adheres to the principle of form following function. In addition to the styling changes and in order for it to achieve 300kph, the XKR-S was the subject of extensive Computational Fluid Dynamics development work. The resulting changes reduced front and rear lift by more than a quarter and optimised lateral aerodynamic stability.

Gumpert Tornante by Touring has made a world public debut in 2011 Geneva Motor Show. The 2011 Gumpert Sport Cars Tornante by Touring, which aims to follow on the ‘rubberprints’ left behind by the Gumpert Apollo, has been built by the German supercar manufacturer Gumpert, together with Italian coachbuilders Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera.

The vehicle on display features a 690 hp biturbo V8 engine that is projected to propel the car well over the 300 km/h (186 mph) mark. What is really interesting, is that the unit is expected to be further refined in order to power a Fast Touring model. Also, Gumpert has mentioned the possibility of developing an alternative-powered Tornante sometime next year.

The 2011 Gumpert Sport Cars Tornante by Touring's V8 is expected to be tuned even further for a Fast Touring model. The lightweight engine comes in at a scant 196 kg (432 lbs), and is mated to a six-speed TT40e semi-automatic gear box that may be controlled with paddle shifters.  The two-seater will ride on aluminum or forged 19-inch wheels up front, and 20-inch wheels in back, all center locking, and wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires.

The TOÚRING accent of the Gumpert Tornante originates from specific proportions and the balance of muscular elegance and introvert power, rather than formal language. The bodywork preserves its movement even when the 2011 Gumpert Sport Cars Tornante by Touring stands still, and when on the move, it expresses unique, elegant fluidness. The prominent grille within the balanced front wings characterizes the Gumpert Tornante's front area. The air intakes are pronounced, reflecting the care given to the air intake surface and the overall airflow.

Wiesmann German sports car manufacturer showcased the design study of a twoseater, extremely purist, convertible sports car at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show  this week launched a new brand Spyder Wiesmann. The vehicle was described as a two-seater roadster and pure example of the next generation of serial Wiesmann sports car eccentric.
Powerful, ultra-light and purist, the 2011 Wiesmann Sport Cars Spyder Concept is the essence of Wiesmann's philosophy. With a kerb weight of less than 1000 kg, it accelerates from 0-100 km/h less than 4 s and makes a top speed of approx. 290 km/h. Basis for this excellent performance is a 420-hp V8 high speed motor which is powered by a 4 liters of engine capacity. You can recognize these numbers as digits, high speed V-8 motor show in the BMW M3, which is not surprising considering that BMW will find the official engine supplier for Wiesmann.
As for the exterior of the 2011 Wiesmann Sport Cars Spyder Concept, the two-seater has no doors, no windscreen and no wing mirrors. It’s also as low to the ground as a kart and features a massive pair of intakes at the front that make it look like Batman’s racing car.
“The 2011 Wiesmann Sport Cars Spyder Concept design study is based on the Wiesmann brothers' early designs, though it also incorporates their many years of experience in sports car construction. It demonstrates the sports car manufacturer's receptiveness to trends because many Wiesmann fans have approached the company founders in recent years with requests for an extremely purist model,” stated the official press release.

In Geneve there will be a design study presented, which needs to undergo the judgement of the experts. General Manager of the manufactory Friedhelm Wiesmann says: "We want to test the marketability of such cars in Geneve", and he goes on: "The feedback of customers, partners and experts has high influence on the consideration of advancing the Spyder model." Wiesmann has not yet decided whether to put the Spyder into production. If it does go into production, this won't be before 2012.

Koenigsegg has its own engine lab, with simulation programs, rapid prototyping machines, engine and chassis dynamometers, and a 1.7 km test track adjacent the factory enabling Koenigsegg to take the cars to 0-320-0 km/h at any time. Furthermore, a 25 minute drive away from the Koenigsegg Factory there is Knutstorp Racetrack, which is described by many as a miniature Nordschleife.
